Garden Tower rises over Manhattan as a pure sculptural form—a stack of duplex homes, each a vertical house with its own elevated garden. It stands as an interplay of geometry, light, and nature. Conceived as a composition of squares nested within one another, it blurs the boundaries between interior and exterior, architecture and landscape, structure and atmosphere. The tower’s white concrete mass captures and diffuses light throughout the day, shifting from monolithic presence to translucent silhouette as the city changes around it.
The footprint is composed of two pure geometries: a square within a square. The inner square forms the living core, while the outer frame becomes a perimetric garden terrace enclosed by a tall parapet wall—an elevated courtyard that shelters life from the city yet opens to the sky, a contained landscape suspended in the air. This duality defines the tower’s character: introverted and contemplative, yet open and luminous, a vertical garden sequence rising above the urban grid.
At ground level, a triple-height orangerie lobby houses a lush interior garden—a living threshold between city and dwelling. Light filters through layers of vegetation and concrete, creating a sense of calm and transition as one enters from the intensity of the street. Above, the repetition of stacked gardens and glazed living spaces creates a rhythmic alternation of opacity and transparency—solid and void, shade and reflection.
At the top, a continuous pool traces the perimeter like a horizon line, completing the dialogue between form and reflection. The still surface of the water mirrors the skyline and sky above, dissolving the tower’s limits into the expanse of Manhattan’s atmosphere.
Garden Tower is a study in geometric clarity and inhabitable thresholds: a house within a garden, a garden within a tower, a tower within the city. It stands as an emblem of quiet monumentality—an architecture of stillness, balance, and suspended nature amid the intensity of Manhattan.
